Call for coders : Blockchain challenge | Luxembourg Open Innovation Club

From June 13th to June 15th, 2018, the European Investment Bank’s Finance team is inviting its 25 major counterparties in the banking sector to an annual forum to reflect on common issues, such as financial instruments processing, regulation, infrastructure or organisational set-up.

This year’s forum will be a special edition. Based on the experience of a big data project in 2017, the team is organising the EIB Blockchain Challenge, applying innovative technologies to optimise treasury transactions.

The blockchain Challenge

At the EIB Blockchain Challenge, the first competition of this kind organised at the EU bank, a group of 40-60 motivated coders are invited to use blockchain and process automation technologies to revolutionise transaction processing.

The selected coders will compete for two days (and two nights!) to propose a blockchain solution to a given financial instrument. To meet the challenge, coders will benefit from the expertise of renowned fintech experts, the EIB team and their main banking partners on the spot.

The offer

Participating in the EIB Blockchain Challenge offers you the possibility to:

  • Take advantage of the mentoring by senior staff of over 25 international banks
  • Co-connect with senior management and bank experts as well as coders from all over Europe
  • Win a cash prize *
  • Implement for the winner of the competition its prototype within EIB and turn it into a real solution that can shape the banking of tomorrow

Deadlines & Additional information

Any blockchain specialist with good coding skills is invited to apply today and no later than May 25th.

Few spaces for UI/UX specialists and developers will be available as well, however, it is on a first-come-first-servedbasis.

Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing process under EIB team’s discretion.
